Edward Bevan (bishop)

Born in Weymouth on 27 October 1861〔“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 he was the son of William Latham Bevan and Louisa Dew, and nephew of George Phillips Bevan. He was educated at Hertford College, Oxford〔''University Intelligence. Oxford, Oct. 10. He began his career with a curacy 〔"The Clergy List, Clerical Guide and Ecclesiastical Directory" London, Hamilton & Co 1889〕 at Holy Trinity, Weymouth 〔(Photo of church )〕 after which he was Chaplain 〔The Times, Friday, Jun 29, 1894; pg. 11; Issue 34303; col F ''Ecclesiastical Intelligence''〕 of the Gordon’ Home for Boys〔(Remembering the Great War )〕 until 1907 when he became Archdeacon of Brecon.
